From the lost depths of time comes the only fragment of the *Maze* movie that is currently available - the 58-second teaser trailer, which was included on the original laserdisc release of the TV series and OVAs. Subtitled by Orphan; raw by DmonHiro. See the blog for more information. This release, and all Orphan releases, are available for direct download from IRC bot Orphan|Arutha in channels #nibl or #news on irc.rizon.net.

I WANT THE GODDAMN MOVIE!!!!!!
I didn't know there was a movie. Now I feel that my life is missing something important.
After I watched TV/OVA/SP (in portuguese - used Google Translate :) ) ~12 years ago, I googled about the movie. There were some reviews about the plot in english and japanese by those who saw the actual movie in the theater. I don't remember, but nothing bad about the plot itself or animation. Probably it was just a production error that destroyed the master copy.
I also believe it was an error. Japan releases almost anything on home media, no matter how shitty it was. It's only now, in the age of streaming, that some home releases have been outright canceled.

@DmonHiro - you and me both. I can understand that >80% of silent films have been lost, but something made in 1998? Worse yet, it appears the original uncensored masters for the TV and OVA are lost, leaving the laserdiscs as the only remaining record.
Nope, it's worse then that. The only source for that OVA is VHS. It was omitted from the laser disc release. Meaning they must have lost the masters somewhere between releasing the movie and releasing the final LD.
Having never been released on home media[4], footage from the film is incredibly scarce and hard to find. As of 2022, there are only two known videos with footage from the film that are available online. One is the official trailer for the film, which was uploaded to NicoNico in 2009, and another one was found in a commercial compilation from 1998 that contained a 13-second promo spot for the film, with additional scenes that were not on the trailer, that was also uploaded to NicoNico in 2010[11]. A petition was made and signed by various users for an official physical release of the MAZE movie back in 2005, but the petition never went anywhere.[14] Aside from the promotional posters and known footage for the film, some of the songs in the soundtrack used for the film are also available online[15][4]. There had been beliefs and theories that the film's master negatives were destroyed and/or thrown away due to the film and franchise's poor sales, but these are rumors that have yet to be confirmed, and no source for the reels being destroyed is valid.
